Presented in Cooperation with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital and the National Trust for Historic Preservation

Professor, architect, art historian, and writer, Vincent Scully is a considerable force in American arts. Premiering in 2010—celebrating Scully’s 70th year of formal affiliation with Yale University—Vincent Scully: An Art Historian Among Architects is a sensitive portrait of an educator who has inspired generations. The film follows the arc of his interests from classical art and architecture to American architecture, historic preservation, and urban design in the 20th century. Filmmaker and Checkerboard Film Foundation founder Edgar Howard introduces the film and takes questions following the screening.
