Local Teen Guitar Phenom Unveils New Album At Strathmore

Seventeen year old soul-electric guitar virtuoso Nate Foley thrilled audiences at the Apollo Theater, wowed discriminating experts at Paul Reed Smith Guitars and will now charm attendees at two Strathmore Artist in Residence (AIR) concerts on Wednesdays, March 7 and 28, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mansion.  The Silver Spring native is adept at playing funk, blues, rock, soul, gospel and jazz, and will unveil songs from his band’s untitled forthcoming sophomore album at the concerts.  For more information or to purchase tickets, call (301) 581-5100 or visit www.strathmore.org.

Department of Permitting Services To Host Two Public Forums

Montgomery County’s Department of Permitting Services (DPS) will host, in cooperation with multiple agencies involved in the development review process, two public forums on the topic of streamlining the development process in the County.  The forums will be held on Tuesday, February 14 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, March 9 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.  Both forums will be held in the Executive Office Building, Lobby Level Auditorium, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville.

Montgomery County Middle School Choir To Perform At National Choral Conference

For the first time ever a Montgomery County Public Schools choral ensemble has been selected to perform for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Middle School Choral Conference in Dallas, Texas on February 29, 2012. ACDA is the premier choral society in the United States.

Members of the auditioned Chamber Choir at A. Mario Loiederman Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Silver Spring, will be flying to Texas on February 28 joining 8 other nationally selected choral ensembles performing for choral directors from across the United States.
