The following information was sent to us by Montgomery County Police:

Officers from the Montgomery County Police 2nd District,  are investigating a peeping tom incident that occurred at the Guess store in the Westfield Montgomery Shopping Mall on December 10.

Police have arrested Gonzalo Aldofo Quevedo-Garcia, age 18, of the 8600 block of Hawk Run Terrace in Gaithersburg for his involvement in the incident.

On December 10, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a 24-year-old female entered the Guess store in the mall.  She was approached by Quevedo-Garcia who assisted her in finding several pairs of jeans.  The female then entered a fitting room that Quevedo-Garcia selected for her to try on the jeans.  While trying on the jeans, the female was asked several times by Quevedo-Garcia if she needed any help.  She declined and stated that she was fine.  The female then noticed Quevado-Garcia‚Äôs shoes close to the fitting room door and a cell phone positioned on the floor in front of his feet in such a way that made her believe that he was filming her inside the fitting room.  At this point, the female flung open the fitting room door and observed Quevedo-Garcia cover the cell phone with his foot.  She then re-entered the fitting room, dressed in her original clothing, and immediately went to the register to make her purchase.  She left the store and contacted police.

Through their investigation, officers were able to identify Quevedo-Garcia as the Guess salesperson who had assisted the female victim.  Officers obtained an arrest warrant for him, and he was arrested on December 20.  After his arrest, officers also served a search warrant at his residence and seized several laptops and cell phones for further investigation.

Quevado-Garcia is charged with one count of peeping tom and one count of visual surveillance with prurient intent.  Quevado-Garcia was released on his own recognizance on December 21 with a court date scheduled for February 7, 2012 at 8:30 a.m.

Anyone with information about this crime or anyone who believes that he/she may also be a victim is asked to contact the 2nd District Station at 301.652.9200.
