Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division, Robbery Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Safeway grocery store.  Today, detectives are releasing photographs of the suspects.

On July 15 at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers from the 3rd District responded to the Safeway, 116 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  The preliminary investigation revealed that two suspects entered the store office and encountered an employee.  One suspect pulled out a handgun and the other suspect punched the employee in the face.  The suspects then removed an undetermined amount of currency from the cash drawers in the office.  The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

  The suspects are both described as black males between 20 and 29 years old.  One suspect is described as 6’00”, thin and was wearing a black shirt and black pants.  The other suspect is described as between 5’07”and 5’09” and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
