Local Community Race Serves Up a Thanksgiving Tradition

28TH Annual Turkey Chase brings families and the community together

8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning finds most of us at home preparing for a day of food and football, but for more than 7,000 runners, 8:30 a.m. means it’s time to run.  Since the first race in 1982, Turkey Chase has developed a bevy of followers that look forward to this event arranged by YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase and the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club.  The annual fundraising event celebrates the Y’s commitment to healthy living and for many local families it provides a yearly opportunity to contribute to their active lifestyle with the added bonus of providing them with the opportunity to give back to the community.
