Mother and daughter electrocuted in Chevy Chase ID'd

CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police have released the identities of the mother and daughter who were electrocuted on a stairwell leading to the home of a Chevy Chase basement.

Crystal Puderbaugh, 29, and Lily Puderbaugh, 4, were both killed Saturday afternoon on the 8800 block of Connecticut Avenue. A preliminary investigation found a sump pump in the standing water near the two victims.

The two were transported to separate hospitals, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Police also released the causes of death for the two victims. Lily Puderbaugh died from electrocution and police say Crystal Puderbaugh died from drowning and electrocution.

There is no evidence of foul play, police said.

The deaths came as heavy rains passed through Central Maryland.
