More Armed Robberies in NW DC, Suspects Still At Large
News

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Residents in Northwest Washington are on high alert after a rash of armed robberies on quiet, residential streets. There's been nine armed robberies within three miles of the Tenleytown Metro since the first of the year. The latest happened shortly before 8 o'clock Monday night.

A man walking along this 4400 block of Albermarle Street was held up at gunpoint. The suspect approached from behind, demanded money, then fled on foot along with two other masked men who were standing nearby. Two weeks earlier, three similar armed robberies took place just thirty minutes apart. Once again, the victims were all walking on quiet, residential streets less than three-miles apart.

D.C. police believe the majority of these armed robberies are related. The suspects are described as a group of two to three men, but so far none of the victims have been able to provide a more specific description.
