Overturned truck blocks I-495 ramp


CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA9) -- An overturned truck on the Beltway caused some traffic headaches on Thursday.

The truck overturned on I-495 on the inner loop blocking a ramp.

BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Two Metrobus passengers are claiming injuries after the bus was involved in an accident on the Beltway Friday afternoon.

Authorities say that the Metrobus was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle near the Old Georgetown Road exit on I-495.

Authorities report that two of the passengers in the involved vehicle are also claiming injuries.


Man survives serious car crash in Montgomery County


Initial reports from Montgomery County police were that that this accident was a fatality, the information has been corrected and updated.

CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police said they responded to a crash at the intersection of Beach Drive and Wyndale Drive in Chevy Chase on Friday night that left a 25-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to Suburban Hospital by fire and rescue personnel where police said he continues to receive treatment.

According to authorities, they responded to the crash around 8:40 p.m. Police said the car, a 2005 blue mini cooper, was traveling southbound on Beach Drive when the driver lost control, crossed the double yellow line and hit a tree.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and police said the reasons for the collision are still under investigation.

Md. man in critical condition after electrocution


CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA) -- Deputies responded to a possible electrocution in the 200 block of Oxford St. in Chevy Chase, Saturday evening.

Authorities said three people were transported to the hospital. A man was electrocuted and is in critical condition.

The woman and teenager had an electric shock.

The three victims were extracted from the crawl space under the house, according to authorities.

Pepco has cut power to the house.

MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police have arrested a woman who they say bit another woman's leg and pushed a police officer.

Bonnie Lu Jackson, 42, of Manassas, has been charged with attempted malicious wounding, assault & battery on a LEO, and domestic assault & battery.

On April 19 at 12:51 a.m., officers responded to the 7300 block of Castle Road to investigate a domestic disturbance. The victim, a 44-year-old woman, reported that she and Jackson were involved in a verbal altercation that had escalated, according to police.

Police say that Jackson assaulted the victim and bit her leg. At some time during the altercation, Jackson grabbed a knife and charged towards the victim. Another person was able to separate the two women.
