Transportation

Montgomery County sent us the following information:

On Wednesday, September 21st at 2:30 p.m., Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and County Councilmember Nancy Navarro will celebrate the completion of pedestrian and traffic safety improvements along Castle Boulevard installed by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT).

Navarro requested that MCDOT consider what could be done to increase safety as nine crashes occurred along Castle Boulevard in the last three years, including two collisions involving pedestrians.  A speed study indicated that the majority of cars on the road were traveling nine miles per hour over the posted speed limit of 30 miles per hour.

Joining Leggett and Navarro will be Community Superintendent for the Northeast Consortium/Sherwood Cluster Beth Schiavino-Narvaez.

Directions and Parking:  From I-495, take exit 30A to merge onto US-29 North/Colesville Road/Columbia Pike toward Columbia.  Take the exit toward Briggs Chaney Road east.  Turn left onto Castle Boulevard.  Parking for the event will be on the left in the Windsor Court and Tower parking lot.  This is the second entrance to the apartment complex: 13900-13920 Castle Boulevard.
